Goonumbla Solar Farm

We power the
future, now

Experienced renewable energy developers, FRV, own and operate the Goonumbla Solar Farm – a source of sustainable, renewable energy near Parkes, NSW.

Welcome to

Goonumbla Solar Farm

The Goonumbla Creek Solar Farm commenced operations in 2020, producing enough green energy to power up to 25,000 homes. The project is owned and operated by FRV Services Australia (FRV). FRV is currently developing a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the solar farm, which would store up to 8 hours of clean energy and provide up to 140 MW of dispatchable power to the grid. Find out more about the BESS here.

Key Benefits

Lightning Bolt Icon

Powering the Community

Enough clean energy to power up to 25,000 homes.

Leaf Icon

Reduce Emissions

Removal of remove 112,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Worker Builder Icon

Contribute to the Community

Local investment of over $2 million, once BESS constructed.

Goonumbla Farm uses state-of-the-art technology, allowing panels to track the sun throughout the day.

Clouds With Storm

This technology is extremely efficient, operating in low light and cloudy weather to maximise clean electricity generation with minimal noise, water consumption or waste.

Solar Panel Icon

The solar farm uses solar photovoltaic (PV) panels similar to those installed on homes, businesses, schools and hospitals throughout Australia. The Solar Farm is planned to generate clean energy until at least 2050.

Ecology Environment Nature Icon

The panels are supported by driven piles that create minimal disturbance to the land.

Walla Walla Solar Farm

Location

Located on private land in the Parkes LGA (Wiradjuri Country), the Project connects directly to the Parkes substation located adjacent to the solar farm.

Project Status

The project was approved by the Department of Planning in 2016 and has been operational since 2020.

FRV is currently seeking planning approval to add a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the site, with up to 8 hours of storage.
